Allo, Caete here.
Since our target is mainly a nocturnal creature according to many sources, LM Mittens and I decided it would be best to try another scouting mission at night. We had picked a good location and once the sun went down, I headed out.
The initial search of the area had no glaring clues to be found. It was rather empty and barren of life. I took a second, more intense survey of the land and found one clue as to the possible location of our subject.
It was a rather vague indication of where Bigfoot’s lair might be. I tracked it to the best of my abilities given the flimsy trail. It paid off. I located a possible lair. This was no nest of trees pushed together. It was chock full of evidence of recent and frequent habitation. I spent the better part of the remaining night searching for specific evidence of Bigfoot. I found no footprints but given the firmness of the terrain, that was to be expected. Samples were gathered and sent to the lab for testing.
LM Mittens and myself do not have high hopes for any positive indications of Bigfoot being found at this location, but regardless of the outcome, it is at least one more spot crossed off the list of possible Bigfoot territory.
Hello. Loadmaster Mittens here. I spent the better part of the day gathering up the supplies and visiting the motorpool to select thr proper items for the in depth field expedition. I conferred with the team leader, Caete and we picked one last “obvious spot” where Bigfoot might be hanging around. She went off to check it out while I polished up two plans of action based on what she would or would not find. We should have her report in the morning.
Caete here. Undaunted by our initial setbacks, the team started searching again, casting out net wider, in hopes of nabbing a clue as to where Bigfoot might live. We figured woods would be a good choice but there are many many forests in SL to search through.
Keitlynn came up with the idea that although Bigfoot might not show up in search, he might show up on the map.
Alas, the search for Bigfoot was fruitless. But what if he was clever? Clever enough to use an alias?
Nope. But what about…
Still nothing. Another dead end. Bigfoot is proving to be quite elusive.
Caete here. Loadmaster Mittens and I have been doing some prep work for the team’s first expedition. It is always a good thing to narrow down your area so you can focus your efforts and get the best results for the money.
So, we conducted a search. Our search probes came back with twelve (12) hits. More than I was expecting. LM just rubbed his chin and did his mix of purring and hmmming which meant he was thinking.
The top result was one being. The rest were places or groups. Could we have already found our target so quickly and easily? We checked into the background and personal info on the subject and were disappointed. It was clear this was not our target. This was clearly a dog. A good sized dog but not anywhere near being in the same category as our now confirmed elusive prize, Bigfoot.
Still, we had several other leads to follow up on….
After many months of talks, it has been decided that effective today, that members of Team Kitten, Team Pwnie and the Kitten Liberation Front shall unite in the name of science and knowledge to explore the mysteries of the second world.
Our goal is to share our experiences and findings concerning the myths and legends that are inherent in all human cultures.
We will be using a combination of repurposed military equipment (the unknown can be quite dangerous!) and technology so cutting edge new, it hasn’t been named yet. Our crew is made up of dedicated volunteers who risk their lives and sanity braving the dangers that lurk in the shadows.
Caete Chevalier, expedition leader. She is the one who changed the team’s name from Team Bigfoot Hunter Tracker Team Of Awesomeness to Team Chevalier. Sadly Team Awesome was already in use. Rumoured to be ex KLF, this Scientist Lady of Science brings years of science to the team. Also she brings most of the equipment and maintains the base of operations.
Keitlynn Ceawlin, pilot, test subject, bait. She is Beaker to Caete’s Honeydew. A slightly insane catgirl (aren’t they all?) who is leader of Team Pwnie. She can usually be bribed into dangerous doings with a stuffed pony. Despite her dangerous job skill set, she always seems to come through more or less intact.
Loadmaster Mittens, vehicle specialist. He is a founding member of Team Kitten and is the brains behind planning and collecting all the necessary equipment for the expeditions. No one handles planning like he does.
